24 hour live-in personal care and support services

We achieve this by providing person-centred support throughout the day and night, provided by live-in Personal Support Workers (PSW), who stay with our clients normally for one to three weeks.

The purpose of the PSW Role:

The PSW role is to provide holistic person-centred care and support to our clients to empower them to have as much control and choice over their lives as possible, to live an independent and fulfilled life. This is achieved by assisting them with all aspects of their daily living, including work, education, personal support, independent living tasks, i.e. supporting in the running of their home.

  • Assist with personal care.

  • Supporting with activities in the community and helping to find new activities for people to do – community mapping.

  • Be a companion and show an interest in the lifestyle choices of the client.

  • Provide our clients with personalised care. Everyone is different and no support package will be the same.

  • Ensuring that the client feels supported, included and able to participate in the home and family life as well as accessing the community.

  • Giving our clients choices and control over their lives.

  • Domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and assisting in food preparation.

  • Addressing needs and aspirations.

  • Ensuring a safe environment.

  • Putting clients first at all times and supporting self-advocacy.

  • Assisting with medication and support with hospital visits and any other appointments.

  • Assisting clients to maintain cultural and religious activities.

These duties are a guide.  Every support package will be different, depending on a client’s needs and level of support required.

When we meet with you for the first time, we will complete a ‘New Client Information’ assessment. This gives us the information we need to prepare a full Service User Plan with you. This plan is unique to your needs and requirements.  We may ask you to share information about the care and support you need in the following areas.

  • Domestic support.

  • Medication support.

  • Lifestyle support.

  • Accessing education.

  • Attending work.

  • Capacity and decision-making.
